As the year comes to a cold end...
Monday 21st December 2009, 8:54 PM

As the year of 09 ends it's always a good idea to look at the year and the accomplishments you have acheived, and also what the new year ahead you plan to acheive

I've inspired Paul and Brad to join the gym with me, ok, they both wanted to go, but I guess I gave them a little push to start. Either way were all getting healthier and on the way to a bit more buff Happy. I now have a mode of transport,My sexy bike. I plan to take my direct access next year and most likely invest in something a bit more powerful, I like the idea of the m25 to make some of my journeys a bit quicker in time.

Looking for a partner will take less priority next year since I realise I spend a lot of time dating and whatnot, besides I want to spend more time travelling. Pauls chuffed with his tomtom I got him and he's determined to travel further. I also want to go to Europe, different parts of the US, so no time to be stuck at home on holidays.

Move out! This year it's got to happen, either with Paul or without, I need my own space and it's gotta happen soon. Life is becoming tainted as a guy who should have moved out and still hasn't, although people havnt said it, I feel like that guy. I don't want to be that guy.

I need to earn more money also. I like my wages I guess, but I need more money, I'm greedy, besides working more adds variety, gives me more friends and best of all gives me less time to spend it!

DerekHyams.com will he changing direction; I want it to be a bay for coding and tutorials, downloads and most of all my portfolio. I've studied and need to further myself in this sector, I need to focus on design and become a stable, all rounder. Codings fine, but it's the design bug I fail to capture, which I know I suffer in. Maybe Photoshop tutorials?

Either way, in sure I'll cope, I just want to be in a very different place this time next year....

Have a lovely Christmas everyone, I hope your new years just as enjoyable Happy x

Closing the gap in time...
Thursday 1st October 2009, 12:19 AM

People ask me what's been going on lately, I havnt been so sure what to say to them. You um and ahh, trying to think of something interesting, some current affairs to talk about, but recently there's not been a lot going on. I've been slowly getting bigger at the gym, and since then, pauls joined too but we've only had one session together. He has different goals to me; mine is to get bigger, defined and more weight whilst Paul is to go for a 10k and back stating "gosh that was a nice jog". Well, his is stamina to clarify.

This eve I went for a drink with Ross, someone I've seen out and about for years but have never got the chance to really sit down and speak to. He's everything I want, need and desire but as cliché as it sounds 'i'm not sure how he feels back'. he's good looking, mature, very ambitious, interesting, cool, laid back, honest, relaistic... There's loads of words, there's also some small things like he rides a [motor]bike, martial arts, gym, so there a few little things we can relate to as well.

Anyway I shoudn't really ramble, but it's been a neat evening, with awkwardly loud bars and comfortably quiet bars, and I've really enjoyed it. I just hope something materialises. Gosh why does this bother me so much? I don't think I can take the suspense of what could or couldn't be. Ross has [realisticly] come close to what I could call a long term partner that I woudlnt find to be mundane and tiresome or immature and irresponsable, what he has in his life is a reflection of who he is and where he has been and if I could add to that equasion, then I hope to only improve his life upon what he already has?

I'd say the best part about Ross is that he's not superficial or pretentious, he is who he is and that's what makes him special. He's rather content in who he is as a person, but always seeking more out of life, to the bone., it's hard to find a hidden gem sometimes....

Trying a different direction...
Sunday 6th September 2009, 8:02 PM

Its been so long since i wrote a blog, so thought id just add a little something here. Ive been up to a lot, Joining the gym, New phone, A small crash on my bike, out and about too. Its nice to have a speedy phone again, I invested into the iPhone 3GS and its not bad at all, the camera is great quality although, no flash, the movies are great quality and smooth, and overall pace of the phone is great. 3G and my network is a little patchy though, you can be in a static location sitting down somewhere and have full network with 3G, then all of a sudden it can be searching for a network, can be rather frustrating, conclusion; Edge, more coverage but slower, 3G fast but VERY patchy.

Ive been going to the gym, joined Fitness First and am putting on weight, going about 3-4 times a week and loving it! Paul should be joining at the end of the month so that's something to look forward to. Claire said she may join too so could be a very fun time! It been good going out and clubbing with Paul, Dee and Claire, and also Joobie, Claires room-mate, going to Fire, and last night Beyond, fun stuff!

Also had a minor crash on my bike recently, was merging between centre right lane to the left and managed to drive right into an island that separate the two lanes, although there was nothing on it, i failed to see it in darkness, drove into catapulting me off the bike, cracked the fairings, snapped the brake lever, bent and scraped the scraper bar, and finally ruined the front wheel, bursting the tyre and tearing the metal by a spoke.

Ebay is such a lifesaver, I got a new rim for £75 that i cleaned up. I then primered, painted, and lacquered the rim, and got the type and brake disc swapped over from a local company for a tenner and the other 3 parts i got off of ebay to for about £6-7 for the brake handle and scraper bar, sorted! i do need find someone that can repair fairings but considering the rim i did, I may have a shot at it myself...

Dates, mates and light refreshments...
Saturday 5th April 2008, 12:00 AM

Its been a busy week here for me since I've come to the point where I've bitten off more than I could chew so to speak. I arranged to meet a guy for a drink last Saturday called Rob, chatting on facebook and we ended up going to fire and having a nice night partying, he's a great guy, attrictive too but just out of my age range, although he does make me laugh. We'd been speaking for a good few weeks and he had a fresh attitude, unpretentious, and really easy going, but we didnt have anything sexual. I wouldnt say it was a date, just meeting up as mates since that was all I am really looking for. he does have the potential for a nice buddy!

Thats until Max came along....

On Tuesday I met an amazing guy called Max. We had a really good time starting off in Starbucks, and what a lovely day it was, moved on to a bar to drink cranberry juice, hehe thats was a laugh, and ended up getting a shared pizza in pizza hut. That was a better time to chat with a waiter that was either very new to the job, or just a really smiley fella! Smile he even had a smiley face badge, awww!

I had a great time that night and when he suggested going out the next day with a movie and gym. I was umming and arring about whether I felt comfortable in someone elses gym, and eventually agreed and ended up feeling pumped and although we didnt speak too much in his gym, it was really kind of him and i did enjoy myself.

Thursday night I had to myself and then Friday I went to meet a guy again that I did say I'd meet, but again, only as friends. Sam was cool I chat to, but I got the impression he may have wanted something a bit more. Although I don't want to label what me and Max are doing at the moment I'd like to see it go somewhere because he's got a great personality, nice conversator and I wouldnt really want to date or meet anyone else. He's inviting me round his tomorrow and I'm trying to take things slow at the moment and I'm hoping that it all is as innocent as it seems because I wouldnt want to ruin a good dating history with him, Max is a very sexy lad and I will have to resist temptation because;
A) I like the direction this is going
B) I'm useless at taking things slow, and doing a pretty good job Wink
c) if and when this moment of passion comes to my fate then so be it!

I mean, we've only been on two dates and havnt even kissed yet, so that could be next on the agenda, and I guess we'll see how we go. I like the way this is travelling and hate to label it but I've got to know where this is going, right?

I'm useless with these things, what worse? Having 10 relationships that went wrong but you know where they where going, or a one 'thing' that could hold potential, but you don't know how to read the signs!

Grr! Another Rant :p

Weekend Madness....
Monday 18th February 2008, 12:00 AM

Wow, what a weekend! I attempted to make my life a tad more social and arranged a meeting with Paul and Ryan, and possibly Amy, and ended up on Sunday evening with Me, Paul, Ryan, Amy, Tristan, Chris, Kiran and Chris’ mate. So was a good night out at the pub and I sadly got tipsy, after having a weekend that was fun, although quite tense.

At the weekend I did some modelling for a site on the net that Tristan introduced me to, and was very new for me, and a bit stressful, but all in all, fun! I made a few shiny pennies out of it, so was a pleasant experience, after I thought about it for a week.

I’ve invested in some brand new earphones for my iPhone, the V-Moda Vibe Duo. Now these are a quality piece of kit being constructed of metal and have a superb industrial/classy look to them, with their sharp silver textured highlights they really are the dogs bollacks of headphones. They retail at £64.00 but the benefits of my job allow me to get them for £56, not bad Smile

Why so expensive then? Well, they work directly with the iPhone, so you don’t need to use a converter to make your old headphones work with them. They also have incredible bass, and great midrange. The treble isn’t as good as my current standard headphones, the Sennheiser cx300 silver which are the best value to sound ratio I know, and although they don’t have the look of my new ones, the really do the job well. And look a bit more discrete.

Don’t forget that the iPhone headphones also have a microphone and button integrated so this makes them much more than a standard set of headphones. They take a bit of time to get used to but, if you have got the money then go for it!

They also make standard headphone in many different colour and I must say that the blue ones are to die for, They are the perfect blue, and it’s a real shame they don’t make them for the iPhone, but we cant have everything now, can we?

I’ve also been in agony since Wednesday when I worked too hard at the gym, and the simple tasks like eating and drinking tea where incredibly difficult since I worked my triceps too hard, but it does show how much enthusiasm I have for getting back to the gym though hehe Laugh. I did feel good after it but being single is taking its toll so will have to buff up and get the men in with a nice body, since the face aint much to look at?! :S

Great week! A bit of a change and ideas...?
Saturday 8th July 2006, 12:00 AM

Wow what a great week it has been! it has been hot! there's been plenty going on, I got to see some great mates of mine on a great evening, have the potential to meet 2 guys that I really like and my gym life has never been better! at least I know the weight gain is working since I've gone from my natural weight to one digit below 8 stone! well happy about that since I know people who are most likely to ask how much I weight and now I'm getting bigger. I really feel great eating and training, literally! loads of energy! I decided to move this site to DerekHyams.com since a sub-domain doesn't make it look as important.

To be honest its when someone creates a profile and tries to pass you off as someone bad, they must be so jealous or bored to put all their time and effort in it makes me laugh! they take about half an hour of their time to create it and I take 20 seconds to remove it! funny aint it! things must be so good for me right now people have to ruin it, never mind! What a week at work, welcome to the sales, well if anything welcome to the heat! I'm baking where I work since they have no air conditioning only fans to circulate the hot air, great. but saying that I enjoy chatting to some of the cuter ones and know where a few of them work! very very nice

PS if anyone's got any idea for the site or things I could add, let me know, I like to see what ideas people have and if I can tackle them. you know where to contact me! no? ok try here.
